The small, long-legged Paratrechina sp. are much too fast for the large muscleman tree ants to catch in a chase. Here two struggle after a stoush on a gum tree. In most cases the smaller ants would quickly dash away but occaisionally one would launch an aggressive attack on the bigger ants.
