Leafhopper gets out of a tight squeeze. Freshly moulted and waiting for wings to unfurl, ant has a look to make sure everything is running smoothly and baby leafhoppers watch, they're up next! Oxley Creek, QLD.
This little planthopper (Cotylana sp.) looked like a mouldy dead leaf to the naked eye. Up close it's more beautiful than I could imagine.
The tiniest hopper I've ever seen! You can see the amazing detail on the leaf at this magnification too. This is a 5x zoom, uncropped. The hopper is about 1.5mm long. Usually they're up around the the 10mm mark!
