I came across these brown globs on a branch of a small tree that didn't have any similar fruit or flowers on it. There was a small cluster of them and to my surprise I discovered a small colony of grubs using them as camouflage. I'm sure now these are waxy scale remains. Mt Coot-tha, QLD.
